Taxation in Turkey – What to Expect

What is taxation in Turkey like?

Taxation in turkey is an important part of the economy. Like any developed, progressing country, taxes are part and parcel of life. Turkey is no exception. If you will live here, then taxes in Turkey need to be paid.

As we are not a wealth-management company nor are we tax/account advisors, please note, information being provided here is for informational purposes only.

You are strongly encouraged to hire the services of a licensed tax accountant / practitioner who is based out of Turkey.

As with most countries in the world, if you are a resident in a country for more than 183 days in a calendar year, you are considered a resident and taxes of that country are typically due. There are exemptions and reduced tax bracket, but as we have cited, we are not the experts here.

Here is perhaps the most authentic link to help explain taxation in Turkey, as published by the Government of Turkey: http://www.invest.gov.tr/en-US/investmentguide/investorsguide/Pages/Taxes.aspx
