Prove your Financial Stability

Another important element that you need to make sure of is proving that you are financially stable and capable of supporting yourself and/or any family members who will live with you in Turkey.

This includes being able to pay rent, buy food and afford all other expenses associated with daily life in Turkey. While the costs of living in Turkey can vary, it costs approximately $500 per person, per month.

Of course, if you have a family, the cost of living here will increase accordingly and you will have to prove that your income is sufficient to support this cost. For example, if you are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, then your monthly cost of living in Turkey will be a total of $1200. Remember this number does not include the Turkey residence permit cost. It is only the cost of everyday living in the country.

You will be asked to produce a rental agreement, for example, and then prove that you have the ability to afford this. A financial statement of at least 6 months will be required when you apply for a permit. Similarly, you will have to provide proof that you can pay the monthly utility bills, afford your children’s school fee and be able to feed your family every day.

Before you apply for a residence permit, you should make sure that you have enough money to support all the members of your family. The turkey residence permit cost will be a one time cost for at least one year (depending on the permit you need) but the cost of living is an ongoing expense you must be prepared for.
